Insurance

Electrolysis typically is not covered unless its medically necessary.

At Alchemy we would be considered an Out-Of-Network service provider.

Biling Process:

If you insurance covers electrolysis services using an Out-Of-Network provider:

Note: You should of gone through the process of being pre-approved and you should know at what rate they will reimburse. In addition, your insurance provider may specify the maximum number of hours (or appointments) that would be covered. Typically insurance wants us to detail our services in 30 minute increments. An hour appointment will be listed as 2 - 30 minutes services. Some insurance policies state that medical bills need to be submitted within a specified time-frame in order to be reimbursed.

Insurance Coverage:

In order for electrolysis to be covered, your doctor would of had to specify that its medically necesarry. There are several steps and requirements that are similar but some may be unique to your medical insurance. In some cases, your insurance provider may require that you go to an In-Network service provider. If the available In-Network provider is not a good fit (or some other reason), you would need to get permission to visit an out-of-network provider. We have clients that have coverage through their insurance and having us be their out-of-network provider. Our clients have to go through the process of submitting a summary bill to get reimbursment and detailed previously.
